itzul2vi71, I'd really like to know why just about everything that we eat and drink has to be 'regulated' by the FDA? It's for our 'own good' you might say, but sadly I don't really put much trust in this agency, and I'm always wondering exactly what their 'angle' is? Why is just about "everything" that's 'herbal' or in our natural forms "bad for you", but the man made pills and other substances that we use are rated "pretty dog gone good"?

bigshot411, it sounds like a 'new'(?) berry that was 'discovered' to me. Personally, I believe there might still be some things in the earth that are of benefit to mankind (healthwise especially), but the way they're going about 'poisoning' our food and water supply that probably won't last much longer.

Monavie DOES claim its the equivilant of eating your RDA of fruit. And since Monavie refuses to tell how much Acai is actually in their drink, you can't tell how much of a punch its packing. When they use the word "proprietary" in their ingredient list, they don't have to list ingredients in order from most to least. And the amount of each ingredient can change from bottle to bottle. Also, vitimin content was only one aspect of the study. They also tested for antioxidents, and MV came in last!

Monavie, never claimed that it would give you your daily allowance of vitamins for the day. The Acai berry speaks for itself. Men's Journal exclaims, "[Acai is] the fruit that packs a punch."

MENS JOURNAL in the Dec 08 issue did a story on "Super Juices" of which Monavie was one. They sent the juices to an independent lab for testing of nutritional value. Monavie came in DEAD LAST. Welches Grape juice and Tropicana orange juice even did better! No wonder Monavie refuses to put any nutritional info on their bottles. Wake up and quit getting suckered.

There are no scientific studies that prove the alleged benefits of the MonaVie juice. It's not been approaved by FDA. It is a typical multi-level marketing company, using the guise of direct sales to make the business look like a legitimate retail venture. The companys focus is on recruiting, rather than retailing the product. This product is just a highly overpriced berry juice. Its pathetic to see people falling for this kind of scheme.

mrs jonas....thanks for the reply. But, I guess that still leaves my question up in the air. Why would it be better to have the bottle at home if the nutrition is the same? I find the gel packs can be found MUCH cheaper for a months supply. If they are equal in nutrients, I would just go with the packs, even at home.

Believe me, I've read all the literature on the freeze-drying process. I know MonaVie contains goji berry, camu-camu, acerola and loads of other good things, but there's no objective data out there proving that MonaVie outperforms other juices and supplements. And if MonaVie was so committed to people's health, they wouldn't put sodium benzoate in the juice, which breaks down into benzene when it reacts with all that good vitamin C. Nuff said.
