Convert DivX to DVD Posted by: reponzo01
Video duration: 590 seconds Global video hits: 32987 This is a video tutorial on how to convert a DivX movie to a DVD. NOTE: This is not "How to Rip a DVD to DivX"...this is the other way around. What you see here is what I know. Unfortunately, I am not an expert on Avi2Dvd. Sorry for the small font...I tried to make my resolution as big as I could...it was already at 800x600! Well, an "iso" by itself won't play. You must burn the iso as a DVD image to a DVD in order to make it work with a DVD player. In either case, they are both the same. The only difference is that an iso must be burned as a DVD image, and the other way (with the AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS folders), you can burn those normally onto a DVD. Either way works.

Reponzo, Is it true that iso don't work on all dvd players? Cause if true the iso would be a bad choice? Although they make it default so obviously it holds some wait huh.

unless Avi2Dvd has a mac executable, then I would guess its PC only.

For the record, ISO Images files and VOB files are NOT the same. ISO images will not play in most dvd players, but will play on any pc. VOB Files will play in ANY dvd player. If you are a low-end user, and do not have an iso-equipped dvd player, you would want to make sure you burn VOB.

Because of the nature of this program, this might be one of those do-at-your-own-risk type of thing. Personally, i've only done this once and it worked ok for me. I'm not sure what may have caused your sound to go out, but I recommend that you play your .vob files with VLC media player first before you burn it to DVD...just to make sure that everything is ok.

Try Dr. Divx. Do a Google search for "dr. divx" and try the first hit. I've heard it works well. Use it and reencode it with a relatively high bitrate.

When ever I try convert a Avi file, it always comes up ''Invalid Video Stream DivX Converter cannot encode the input file: C:\Fraps\war31.avi because it contains an invalid video stream. For more information visist DivX Support'' Anyone can try help me with it or, like by any chance give me a converter which converts fraps videos (.avi) and leaves a good quality video left..? :-( Thanks,

Of course. ConvertXtoDVD is a money costing software while Avi2Dvd is a legal freeware. And the program should be better considering the price it is listed for.

At 1:40, I explain how to add multiple files to your project. As far as adding a menu, I am ashamed to admit that I don't know how to do it. I'm sure you can because I think this program has menu options. But you'll have to play around with those as I haven't had any experience with menus.

how do i convert multiple videos into one dvd format?and how do i put menu in it so i can locate which video i want to play in the dvd?

Agreed, ConvertXtoDVD owns the app this bloke uses.

nice background. i like the "ConvertXtoDVD" for burning movies, takes any kind of file type and automatically converts to burn. i've used Nero, but only like it for burning my 360 games. i'm looking forward to getting a Divx compatible flat screen to use my Sd card, that would be convenient. nice vid, very clear and informative! 4/5

I actually haven't run into that problem so I don't know how to solve it. Try doing a Google search for "avi2dvd invalid floating point operation". When I did that search, I saw quite a few forums. You may find some answers there.

This may not be the quickest encoder. I have a pretty beefy computer (dual-core with 2Gigs of RAM) and it still took like an hour to encode one movie. But you can still give it a shot. It may take less time depending on the length of your movie.
