actually guys, they were planning to cut it up and give to the great ormond street hospital and other childrens hospitals but unfortunatley couldn't because of the lights, it was unsafe so the put it oon a compost heap or something :) its pretty darn good though!

I personally will keep with Ecover toilet cleaner for peace of mind. putting half a cup of Soda Crystals aka washing soda in the toilet tank will help keep the toliet sparkling even after a few uses... I've used these 3, and simple bleach (bleach on the toilet bowl and to remove mildew) for 55 years, and it's the only thing I've used. Also, use tooth-paste to polish your jewelry; make the paste from baking soda/kosher salt/white vinegar or lemon juice to make a paste. Save money and the environment. Soda takes out smells - like that also.

There are so many wonderful, safe, environmentally friendly ways to use baking soda and vinegar. A great way to clean your shower/tub is to first scrub it with baking soda. After that, I take distilled vinegar which I put in a spray bottle and thoroughly apply. It creates "scrubbing bubbles". Rinse with water and you are done.

Thank you for sharing this. I'm diabetic and I use splenda all the time. Ignorant people think that splenda is poison when in reality its just equal, nutrasweet, sweet n low, and canderel. Great video. I had a oven like that in my first apartment. Damn... I couldn't cook anything. Temperature monitoring was a total crap shot. Enriched bleached white flour is so bad for you. Make your own flour from wheat berries and you'll have about 20 times more nutrients. You can actually make 1 cup of flour in a coffee grinder in about 20 minutes. Just keep sifting it and grinding it.

That's where the dough sponge comes in so handy--if it hasn't risen in, say 20 minutes, the yeast is probably expired and it's time to buy some more. I understand it is possible to invigorate bum dough by kneading in another solution of yeast, but I've never tried it. But, chapatis are yummy too, teehee!

The other thing that might be significant is I use a Pyrex bowl (high heat resistant glass bowl) to cook the bread in as opposed to a cast iron pot. I'm just replying to a comment I left a while ago about my mix being too sloppy to handle even though I used more flour than everyone else. Remember: Odlums!

Hi, I used dried yeast and thought it made a big difference...no bakers i know worth their 'salt' would use anything but fresh yeast. In the UK you can obtain it from supermarkets that bake the bread. One gives it free. I am sure there is 'snobbery' involved i making bread but this is at the heart of making good bread. This will give you a, relatively, non-sticky dough. Using a wetter dough feels *really* awkward when you've never done it before (it sticks to your hands and will initially feel very frustrating). However, a wetter dough produces a much tastier loaf! The bread is (obviously) more moist but also more supple.

Hi Farah! A common technique of new home-bakers is using too much flour in the dough which creates a drier bread, and thus a stiffer bread. Breadtopia, in this video, creates what's called a 50% dough. This means 2 parts flour to 1 part water, *by weight*. It is very important to measure your ingredients by weight since this will indicate the true ratio of ingredients.

The grind of the wheat could effect the result but your problem is more likely to be something else, like the sourdough starter not being healthy enough. It's nearly impossible to trouble shoot your bread problems with so little information. In any case, for making really good whole grain breads, I highly recommend Peter Reinhart's new book on whole grain baking. It was just published a couple months ago. Good luck.
