Warrant - Dog Eat Dog is one of the best albums ever written. Jani is an excellent song writer and this album really showed the bands maturity! Indeed, it was a big change for the band. 1992 was still a bit like 1989 I agree, but a year after that things changed drastically in the music scene and it was all about Grunge and Alternative Rock by that time. It's true, Dog Eat Dog was more darker than the first two albums. It depends how you look at it, of course in 1992, the '80s thing was about to get phased out. So I believe with this album, they had to change their sound to stay relevant or tried to at the time!

Dog Eat Dog was IMHO, Warrant's best album. It had great stuff and I think the music on that record beats the "Cherry Pie" and their debut album. The only bad thing is, it was released in 1992. The '80s hair metal thing was fading around that time. From what I can recall, I think the last time I ever saw an '80s hair metal band or song on MTV during the '90s was a month before 1992 ended.
