Jack White and the White Stripes have their own style. Chris Cornell and Audioslave have thier own style. Which you like completly depeds on preference. The styles of these two amazing bands are far from each other, but both epic. Just listen to the one you like most

this cover kicks the shit out of the white stripe song. first of all, tom morello is a way better guitarist and second, chris cornell is a beastly singer! they overplayed the white stripes song too much and it got annoying

Jack used a pedal to get that bass sound at the begging, and a once again during the solo to get a really hi sound. He does that alot, since they only have 2 people and want to do all their songs live.

the original studio version does have bass. Jack White played a bass line, several guitar lines, and sang, all seperately of course, and then put it together.

i think this version is better...cause the original song is just play with a gituar and drums, no bass! and timmy c is a very good bass player, so his bass give this cover the special thing...

hey, I'm a fan of both White Stripes and Audioslave, but I think the original and cover are good. True, Jack White did come up with the song, but Audioslave didn't exactly do a bad job with it, either. If you doubt their interpretation, listen to Tom Morello's solo: it's astounding,, as are Chris Cornell's vocals. It's only bad if you want the two to sound the same; it's great if you're looking for aritstic expression and skill

ok i think somehtign is wrong hlake911. Jack White is the singer for white stripes and the racouteres...Chris Cornell is the singer for audioslave and the former soundgarden..where does this same singer come into play?
