Funny thing is im getting all my friends around here to go to EQ2, i played WoW because i liked the RTS, but the MMO ruined it for me...and yes people i have played to 60 and even 70 rogue and mage, and raided, blah blah, the community sucks and everyone on there expects your world to revolve around their game or their raid, EQ2 is much more laid back and just Awesome lol, so is SWG but thats a whole 'nother conversation

Lol making EQ2 better, it just won't work, WoW is better - Fair enough EQ2 has better graphics. However, WoW has better combat and much better community. In my opinion WoW story line makes more sense. WoW has topped the RPG and has been the more successful mmropg game than EQ since 2004, (since it game out in europe) Any who wish to argue, feel free (Its my opinion.)

I can honestly say when EQ2 first came out like all fresh games it needed work. Though EQ2 was backed up by veterans in this field from the very successful original EQ it become just a matter of time before EQ2 was molded into the superior game. I have played DAoC, Lineage 2, WoW, Guild Wars and Final Fantasy 11 online and I can honestly say EQ2 has been the one to lure me back. To me it's a new game that managed to keep that old school atmosphere and the staff are totally dedicated.

I love eq2. I played WoW and sometime go back from time to time but eq2 is so much more immersive. WoW, imo is a game for the generic masses, many who play, never knew first generation. Personally I like the community, and met so many people in real life because of eq2 including my husband. It seemed like everyone in WoW is spassy and out for themselves get geared up an quit.

EQ2 is a great online game to play. Often people leave EQ 2 for WOW and some leave WOW for EQ 2. It all comes down to jumping onto an MMORPG that you want to try. Everyone gets tired at some point so they try another and may come back to their original. It's about being an online player not a slave to one game title or servant to it. Those who curse others in favor of one are pitiful servants to the one game. Bottom line, yes, EQ 2 is amoung the great MMORPGS worth trying; and so some others.

EQ2 and EQ1 can't be compared. They are completely different in terms of game play, they just have the same name. EQ1 was good, for it's time... EverQuest 2 is by far the greatest mmorpg out today. I've played them all, EQ2 holds my attention the most. I can easily drain hours and hours on this game. That can be good or bad. Don't read reviews, EQ2 had a bad start on release day. 90% of the problems were fixed. Most people who played release dont know about all the improvements

EverQuest 2 had a REALLY BAD start that's still haunting it to this day. When the game released, it sucked... Really bad. Today, it's an amazing game! Back during the release. Not so much... I played EQ1 and WoW and now EQ2. The graphics are the best of any MMO... The game play i really like, I hear people saying it s a failure, but it isn't at all. the quests are more in depth than WoW and they have another expansion coming out in Nov. I think WoW has a bigger population than EQ2 because it is simpler and older computers can handle running it. If looking for a more challenging an rewarding MMORPG, give it a try.

Since when did placing blame on video games become so popular? The blame lies solely in the person that is unable to take themselves away from it. The game doesn't make the person play it. If you are in a relationship where your significant other spends all their time in the game, you have two options. Get them to see a shrink, or leave. Simple as that. I play EQ2 every day, and I have a perfectly normal life, thanks. The problem isn't with the game, it's with the person.

Well now that the NDA has lifted, I played Beta, and there is massive solo content in ykesha and a crapload of new quests. I solod there easily with a level 80sk, also with a level 72 wizard. So you get that plus all the new dungeons.

Sadly when Echoes of Faydwer was released they nerfed the monk quite a bit.. Had my monk at lvl 53 at that time, full mastercrafted gear. Could with ease take down 5 lvl 47 down arrow mobs without any trouble. After EoF it was impossible... then i stopped playing my monk and started a zerk. But for those starting a monk now it should be fine, you didn't get as nerfed as I did ;) Have also been gone for a year now and dont know if they've made the monks better now.. anyway GL with your monks ^^

Both games are good and have quality artwork. However, EQ2 graphics are more along the lines of 3d modeling characters while WOW is more cartoon artwork style. You need the right video card to get the correct textures and effects in EQ2 to see their famous quality. I use an Nvidia 8800GT with 512 megs ram and I can see 3D rendering quality that just isn't there in WOW. You can see more of that 3D look I'm talking about by typing "Everquest 2 gameplay" in the search.

The graphics look bad because the person has their settings on "Very High Performance" because they don't have a system with enough prowess to even run it at balanced...either that or they were trying to make the video smaller size so they reduced the quality..at any rate I like EQ2..bad graphics or not they have a lot nicer people there. I have both Wow trial and EQ2 trial. I can say from experience EQ2 is alot more fun... at the start anyway. Wow is just hack and slash and doing random quests that don't have a plot. I got tired of questing at level 13. EQ2 however, the questing has plot and is easy to follow and understand. The characters have alot more variety and many racial and class traits you can take advantage of right away.

This game is amazing and is very underated. But Theres a catch to this game. If you are apart of a pre made guild or a bunch of friends this game is possibly thee most in-depth MMO you will find out right now. Graphics are amazing, story is great, sound is great, spells and everything is very appealing. but... If you are coming into the game solo you will find that things can get tedious and with the lower server populations finding groups and things to do can turn people off right away.. 9/10

Kudos to the producer of this video, but in all honesty its a miss representation of the game. After level 30 s**t hits the fan real fast, and it's an adrenaline pumping affair. Fury's in particular at level 20 - 30 are stupid easy to win with. People can't kill you, and you 3 hit them, plus have heals and 60% snare and roots... but things change later on. Solo fights are either over in 10 seconds, or fights of attrition, and group PVP becomes the main course of action.

What I find amazing is the fact this game came out before majority of today's market (including WoW) and the graphics are still impressive. EQ2 still has more polygons at max settings than even Age of Conan. Two HD4850s in Crossfire cannot play EQ2 at maximum settings once you start hitting the high resolutions 1920x1200++ while you can do such in Age of Conan or Crysis.

Yes, Nagafen server. World pvp, not instanced. In newb areas only people within four lvls can attack you - that spread becomes bigger as you lvl. So in the mid zones, people within ten lvls can attack you. In the end game zones, there are no lvl restrictions.

Please don't mention raiding as an example of challenge in WoW. Raiding in WoW is not hardcore, challenging or, based on what I've seen/heard, even very difficult. But then, when you do the same raid dozens of times, week after week, I imagine it's gotta become pretty brainless. I've been on Vent talking with friends while they were raiding - one of the tougher end-game raids - and they couldn't have been more "ho-hum" about it. They were chatting like it was a casual xp grind. Itense? Hardly.

Heheh... well isn't that the WoW way? Lower the bar and make everything easier to get, 'cause for some reason gamers are becoming more and more impatient, and want greater reward for less effort. When you're completely spoiled by a MMO that's little more than an interactive Success Dispenser (i.e. WoW), having to put forth any kind of actual effort to earn anything must seem unbearable. Not sure about WoW, but I know that in FFXI because the listing price can be quite high and auctions expire, it results in players being more competitive in their pricing. In EQ2, because your sales never expire, people can just leave things up forever at a given price and eventually it's going to sell. It's almost like money in the bank. At least that's how I saw it.
