Its true,everquest has fucked up in many ways. 1:The whole farming shit was overkill and you could be spending weeks farming wich made it overkill and boring in the end. 2:Expansions came out way too quickly and it became about raids,this was something that made endless grinding and raids eventually turn boring.When max lvl was 65 it was still bearable,but once it got to 75 i was like:OH MAN!!! Bad enough getting to lvl 60 wich was not that bad in comparison to lvling to 75.

i wish i could go back to EQ....it was a great game then it started to die out when WoW was becomming big, to be honest EQ had the best PVE system ever, and the classes/races were so great, i wish i could've still played a monk/pally over a shadowknight/beastlord/druid/shaman/necro... lol ivan, WoW isn't that great, you get 70 in 2 weeks, can't get in a good raid guild because you aren't geared enough, new raids come out, new expansions come out, you never get to see that content, you get better gear than that one raid you were never able to get in because you didnt qualify, you go to it and 5 man it. Yeah, WoW is definitely the best MMORPG. I play WoW but i'm not going back to EQ because it's just not how it was back in 2003.

People still play EQ but it can be hard to find a group at low levels (below lvl 46) except on Friday and Saturday nights. Come on back, you can still solo, and clerics still give buffs like Temperance.

to Ivan, Best mmorpgs for kids maybe. Its a great MMORPG, however when it comes down to it nothing is more addicting, more classic or more original than EQ. EQ basically paved the way for all the MMORPGS we have today. Wow has its Charm i'll admit, but it can't topple EQ's addictiveness and Roleplay value. And thats coming from someone with 2 lvl 70s and 2 years of playing WoW.

I was only 9 when EQ made its debut and i was with it till wow and then went to EQ2 but then I started thinking why not re-release EQ with improved graphics and take out most expansions. Because then it would revive EQ the defining game of the genre and i would deffinatly play. just name it Everquest Revisited.

Haha at dumbass WoW4lyfe123 kids last comment, The funny thing is, this was like everquests cinnematic intro video not even the graphics themselves, keep in mind everquest was a 1999 game, back when playstation and N64 were king EQ was just as mentioned before paving the way for MMO's to come. EQ's graphics sort of remind me of that era, its classic graphics that is, sort of like a better version of PS1 and N64 combined.

I can honestly say when EQ2 first came out like all fresh games it needed work. Though EQ2 was backed up by veterans in this field from the very successful original EQ it become just a matter of time before EQ2 was molded into the superior game. I have played DAoC, Lineage 2, WoW, Guild Wars and Final Fantasy 11 online and I can honestly say EQ2 has been the one to lure me back. To me it's a new game that managed to keep that old school atmosphere and the staff are totally dedicated.

I love eq2. I played WoW and sometime go back from time to time but eq2 is so much more immersive. WoW, imo is a game for the generic masses, many who play, never knew first generation. Personally I like the community, and met so many people in real life because of eq2 including my husband. It seemed like everyone in WoW is spassy and out for themselves get geared up an quit.

I would love to play EQ again,i have been playing it since i was a kid, about 10 years ago, i have to say i love the game, but as of late the bugs have prevented me of going back, I cant hold an open connection with their server so i get kicked off every time i start the game, as always the Tech support are of no help, so i just stopped trying, really wish i could play it.

Ohh, what a great video. I remember playing on Quellious for years. Raalf, Fibboy, Dachunker, Thundax, Poper *cries* Chubz, and all my friends. I quit too after a while, but won't be gone forever. EQ2 is a great online game to play. Often people leave EQ 2 for WOW and some leave WOW for EQ 2. It all comes down to jumping onto an MMORPG that you want to try. Everyone gets tired at some point so they try another and may come back to their original. It's about being an online player not a slave to one game title or servant to it. Those who curse others in favor of one are pitiful servants to the one game. Bottom line, yes, EQ 2 is amoung the great MMORPGS worth trying; and so some others.

EQ2 and EQ1 can't be compared. They are completely different in terms of game play, they just have the same name. EQ1 was good, for it's time... EverQuest 2 is by far the greatest mmorpg out today. I've played them all, EQ2 holds my attention the most. I can easily drain hours and hours on this game. That can be good or bad. Don't read reviews, EQ2 had a bad start on release day. 90% of the problems were fixed. Most people who played release dont know about all the improvements

I played EQ1 and WoW and now EQ2. The graphics are the best of any MMO... The game play i really like, I hear people saying it s a failure, but it isn't at all. the quests are more in depth than WoW and they have another expansion coming out in Nov. I think WoW has a bigger population than EQ2 because it is simpler and older computers can handle running it. If looking for a more challenging an rewarding MMORPG, give it a try.

If you have the money to buy the expansions, and time to invest i say go for it. Just make sure you research the servers, since some servers are good for new comers. two server i suggest you avoid is Luclin and saryrn. i played on saryrn for many years and currently play on luclin.

People will never understand the wonder of EQ over WoW. Its hard to make the WoW generation, understand how great EQ was because, WoW is next Gen, of course is gonna be better than EQ. WoW is better in all respects, EXCEPT in its respect of the player. Why was EQ better because it was more real, I remember losing my corpse with alot of items on it because i couldnt muster enough people o help me get it

thats part of why EQ is often considered better. WoW caters to the needs of the player too much, makes it too easy. EQ takes patience and teamwork to level, its near impossible to solo to max level (unless you're a necro or mage). In WoW, pretty much anyone can solo to 70, and it really doesnt take that long either. EQ made such an impression on people because it was so hard, people would actually be afraid of dying and having to find their corpse. you just dont get that with WoW

wow is a fun raiding game and ive raided it up to bt and mh... it was fun but even tho encounters changed - it was the same. Too much BS outside raids too with homo daily quests etc. Wow also fails in the amount of content.. t6 = bt, mh, swp. lol? blizzard are cheap fucks. 8/10 EQ was and will always be the best game experience ive had. It was new, it was fun in all ways and challenging from lvl 1 to the top. There were MANY possible raids which required skill and precision. 10/10

wow is a bit more complex, classes have far more skills, there are some more advanced mechanics. it IS a newer game afterall.. so due to some of the complexities, you can run in and whack away and more forgiving of mistakes. everquest on the other hand, required much more precision. clerics had chain heal rots, as opposed to having 1 MT healer. mob placement was crucial. stealing agro meant you and most the raid will die. they play different. i loved raiding in EQ, and i love raiding in wow.

Since when did placing blame on video games become so popular? The blame lies solely in the person that is unable to take themselves away from it. The game doesn't make the person play it. If you are in a relationship where your significant other spends all their time in the game, you have two options. Get them to see a shrink, or leave. Simple as that.
