Look guys countries who dont make their own fighters sometimes upgrade the old fighters but to the level of very recent aircraft, like turkey or greece does and by the way F-16 is a death trap it has a record of 200 crashes(more than any plane in the world) without entering combat, no wonder US pilots prefer F15 and f14 better than the F16 and the f18

Yeah.... it was a real shame that the F-20 never went into full production because of the U.S. government's and the Reagan administration's push to promote the then new F-16 Falcon. Os A4 possuem apenas uma versão do radar do F16 e ainda assim da década de 80, portanto....., velho e ultrapassado também. Well im not a tornado guru like yourself, but I do discern the difference of opinion, between theoretical damage being more devastating than physical damage. Its easy to sit back and investigate things of this nature without having an ubiquitous sensibility,meaning "That just because you werent there doesnt mean it didnt affect you in any way." I consider each devasation just as physically and mentally detrimental as the most minute. Plus even with advanced warnings the storms still happen!

Dude we can't asume the Tri-State tornado was the worst. First off there is no way to discern if it was one funnel or a family of tornadoes. Besides there's no way to know the wind speeds of the tornado. Thirdly just because a lot of people died that doesn't make it the worst. It killed the most because there were no good warnings. If you've heard people in Bangladesh die all the time from EF1 tornadoes because of bad warnings.

this tornado managed to kill 11 people. There is NOTHING ordinary about an F5 tornado. Keep in mind, this particular tornado killed 11 people with significant advanced warning. They knew this tornado was coming and still, 11 people died. 44 Died in OK city in `99... 11 died in Greensburg, KS last year. Think of how many would have died in that 1.7mi wide tornado without warnings ?? it would have killed half the town, about 700 people... the same at the tri-state.

Ah thank you for reminding me. That also brings up a good point of gas milege from supercars. When people buy a supercar they never talk about why, because they say they don't care. Trust me they should care in a Vette you get 18/26, I think hopefully someone knows the real numbers. It's good to know that you can step on the pedal at full throttle knowing that you didn't just empty your tank. P.S. it is VERY GOOOD to know there is also someone who knows what he is talking about.

Impressive footage, especially at the end. Wish they'd turn the stupid music off so you could hear it. I had an f4-f5 wedge go right over my house when I was 10. Hit the lake bank in front of our house and lifted, landed about 1/4 mi behind us. Originally thought it was 2 tornados b/c the walls were so far apart. Ground shuddering and vibrating, then the roar, drowning out my mom screaming the Lord's prayer. You never forget that sound.

F1 would be the father would be a Serval, an F5 would mean it is 5 generations (or great, great grand father) removed from the Serval. If you look at %serval then an F1 ~50% serval and an F5 is ~3.125% serval. Percentages can vary depending on breeding. L

The boy has moved on. He was never fertile. His owner had to find a pet home for him. Moja (the female) is still here and she is about 2.5 years old. She has had one kitten that I still have and she is just over a year. Lily has much more attitude than her mother. Thanks anyway. L

yes, this tornado was almost stationary. The wind speeds were estimated to be around 200mph. This tornado was rated an F5 and it was accurate. The forward speeds are taked into account when rating a tornado. From what I have read about this video, the language is some form of dialect used by a local Hutterite or Mennonite ? colony.. they are like Canadian Amish Quaker type folks I reckon.. what do I know, I was born in Guelph !! LOL

thanks for the info. and so by that logic this tornado should have had fairly equal wind speed all-around since its forward progress was at or near 0 for most of its life? but my question still stands. this one just sat there, destroying the same area over and over. was the forward speed calculated in when they rated the damage? a house would eventually be blown off its foundation even in 75mph winds if exposed long enough (a year or longer perhaps).

the damage would have been worse on the ENE quadrant of the tornado. you have to divide the radial section of the tornado into quarters when determining the damage within it's path.. for instance.. a tornado with 100mph wind travelling 40mph will have 140mph winds on the windwards or leading edge. On the flipside, the backside of the tornado's winds will be 60mph.

the fugita scale doesn't measure what a tornado looks like... the scale is based on damage. an F5 or EF5 can look like anything. Typically tho, an EF5 would be more wide... but it doesn't matter what shape the tornado is.

Wow... great video and amazing how many morons don't understand the Fujita Scale. "It's not big enough to be an F5" - Do some homework people, it doesn't have to be a wedge tornado to be F4, F5... DAMAGE decides it's rating, and if you go hunt the internet you can find pictures that match F5/EF5 damage. It is a worthy F5.
