i've been looking for this song for ages.... I first heard this song when i was 13 or sumthing, and i still remembered that tune all this way. Its bizarre and powerful how mind can remember one single loop of a song A friend who was a major in audio engineering finally found this song for me after I whistled the loop of the song and he recorded it and used some ID3 tag cloud search or sumthing I bet none of u guys would believe me on this -.-

Lol that was good. I tried this with a couple of my friends, and as long as the person your doing it with as the same interpretation as you of the piece your playing, it isn't too hard. Still takes a lot of talent though, especially matching the faster passages between the tounging and the fingers.

I dunno, my friend and I have been doing this and I think doing the embouchure is harder lol. It's weird doing the tonguing but not moving your fingers, but flautists regularly do fingerings without actually playing. I'm way better at doing the fingerings than doing the embouchure.

Unless you have a sever cleft lip playing the flute shouldnt be a problem. One of the reason why music teachers tell you "your lips are too big" ect is because they have to spread people out among the instruments... you cant have 20 flute players in a 40 person ensemble. People play out from the side of their mouth just as well as people who play from the center. If you want to play flute, dont let anyone discourage you and force you to clarinet or sax! Its one of the hardest instruments.

Piccolo is not harder than flute "to play", people only make you think it is. The reason is it easier to play is because the embrasure variant is less on a piccolo and much more varying on a flute especially when playing the bottom register and switching to the top. The only thing more "difficult" with playing the piccolo is keeping it in tone when playing the higher notes. Any flute player knows that high notes go sharp on flute, and more so on piccolo. Piccolo is easier, im telling you.

If all you can play is 5 notes before having to take a breath something is wrong with your embrasure. They key to playing the flute well is knowing what is too much air and what is too little. As you play more and more you will naturally find the balance between the two. Too little air and it sounds pinched. Too much and its airy with no tone.

Piccolo is harder than flute, but you should definitely start with flute, not piccolo. Learn the basics on flute before advancing to piccolo. I guess it is possible to start on piccolo, just harder! By the way, lip shape doesn't really have anything to do with it. Some lip shapes make making an embrochure a little difficult at first, but it doesn't stop you.

It is true, but you can eventually learn it. I probably shouldn't play it, but I still try. I have beautiful vibrato, but I am still a little slow on the fingers. But the piccolo is harder. But if you want to learn it, learn the piccolo first, or else learn flute and play only lower notes. Then learn on the piccolo the higher ones. I can just say that my friend learned piccolo first, and she is amazing!

Back in History the Press secretary's job was just to put out information about what the white house was doing. "Just the facts" But now the media feels its role is advisarial to the Government. Which has forced the press secretary to put a positive spin on things. This happens in Democratic or Republican white houses. Press Secretary should be called Press Ambassador. I thought Tony Snow was a nice guy. Which I guess makes a good ambassador lol

My house is $610K, 7,200 sq.ft. with basement 5 br/5.5 ba, 4 side brick, 3 car garage, in suburban Atlanta - not some overpriced 1,000 sq.ft. bungalow in L.A. When I was 29, I was 3 years into my own home and making $70K (1987 dollars). Adjusted for inflation, that's over $140K today. Your turn stud.

I highly admire this performance in particular because of the octaves; you manage to sound so effortless, the notes give off the effect of two flutes instead of one, which is a technique I've been practicing (and oh my gosh is it insanely hard). I think this is lovely. :)
