windows disk cleanup and defragmenter programs are terrible, i use ccleaner from piriform and auslogics provide a great pc cleanup program that does everything for you. just type auslogics into google.

sigh, i have many external drives 2 500gb and 1 1tb, seriusly, i dont notice anything before or after fragmenting it that suggests searching, playing, running, copying pasteing, goes slower, not noticeable. many mp3 many movies many programs many smaller things iv gathered up on the years, the terabyte one is just backup, and the test was simple, no noticeable improvement, the only thing i can notice is when i hear the external drive activateing cus that takes a second to start the spin~

I'm sure the pro's don't do that and i'm sure that a normal person wouldn't do that because there isn't always going to be a camera man at the edge of the photo. Also im sure you can crop or brighten your picture with a standard editor on your computor instead of getting a piece of software for more than £60 which you wont use (comment back please, I like opinions).

What a load of pap, anyone who knows anything about cameras/resolution & associated paraphinalia can easily see the test were designed to make the IXUS look as bad as possible, so much for a ballanced view, shame on you Gadget show no G's.

hmm... ive never tried the ixus line from canon, but i use the powershot a720 IS, and it is a absolute great camera. probably one of the best compacts on the market. I would like a slr, but i don't have the money. I've had great photos with the a720, but the only down side is the auto flash, which is not very good consequently.

I made my sister buy the Fuji F30 around new year and I wouldn't regret it, kick ass compact camera. Only decent alternative (but more expensive) would be the Canon i/ixus 850 IS I guess since it has wide angle lens and image stabilization. But then one can just jump up all the way to a Pentax k100D and get a real camera ;D

The Canon is horrible for all round use. The pics from the Fuji are excellent, even in bright daylight. Afterall, photography is all about the light, and that's where the Fuji excels at, making it a much superior all rounder.

the test is mainly on Fuji strong point. Night shot, action, which used high ISO. Fuji is very good with High ISO, no one come close in digital compact. The picture quality is I believe is not correctly done. Canon never been that bad, unless it was tested using high ISO like shown here. IF you like action fotos, night shot, you better go for Fuji, otherwise I'd prefer Canon for all around use.

f31fd will be my first digital camera. I think that is the best compact digital camera in the today´s market, because with 6.3 megapixels takes much better photos than other cameras that have higher megapixels. Many people think only in the megapixels, (if has more megapixels the camera better), but it is not true. We have to value many other things before the buy of one camera, like performance of highs isos, battery duration, camera visor resolution...

It's really a shame that all of these G1/Android reviews exist and the people who do them only understand about 2% of what Android is really capable of. I guess that's what happens when a product is created that is years ahead of its time. I'd like to see a review by someone who can actually wrap their head around the potential of this operating system instead of ones that tell you the screen flips out, there's a contour on the chin, and you can check your e-mail. No shit, sherlock.

You're entitled to your opinion, just like the slew of other reviewers are. I can't fault you there. However, the music playing in the background is distracting. Also, looking off to the side instead of speaking directly to the viewer is a turn-off. Engage your viewer!

That's not rude at all --- It's actually a very good question. --- For many (most?) people an external 1TB drive or two is perfectly fine. That kind of solution gets good performance, costs much less, and is far less complicated --- However, for some, there is no substitute for a Network Attached Storage device. That kind of 24x7 network accessible storage is invaluable to some uberGeeks and professionals.

Good point --- The 1100 is really for those who run their own Data Center (even a Data Closet) or need something that can be racked.For anybody who doesn't have those particular needs, the NV+ is a better choice.
