I have heard many songs that claim to be only " sampling another song, when in fact the rap has the entire leodey in the background so what I said still stands true. Sampling is another word for those who are either too lazy, lack the experience & talent required, or just to ride the coat tails of others, take you your pick. Maybe you should check out some older rap, seems they did their own music, guess the new kids on the block may not have what it takes so they steal & copy.

I can't catch much from the recording, and haven't translated my liner notes for this one yet. Generally speaking, Tha Blue Herb lyrics are deep, reflective commentary on social, economic issues and concerns esp. within Japan. TBH is hip hop as social, political commentary to the max. I suspect even a native Japanese speaker could catch no more than 75-80% of the lyrics without access to liner notes.

Make sure they're fresh seeds from this year. Cover with about 1/4" soil - pat it over the seeds, water gently and keep moist. Outside they should sprout in about a week. ~Rita

Thank you, I didn't recognize him playing electric and with that hair. NHOP is one of my favorite Bass players of all time. His upright playing was just as adept as his electric playing. Amazing!!

Actually, I'd like to retract my earlier comment about the bass player rushing. I don't know if I had wax in my ears or the streaming was dodgy but on a second listen, he is right there, in the pocket. I must have been smoking something... BTW, his name is Niels Henning Orsted Pederson - one of the greats. Played a lot with Oscar Peterson and I think also with Miles and Diz. I gotta get off the weed man... (Where is da 'one' gone now?) Herb is stil with us today but Barney has since passed on. These two cats pushed each other technically when they got together and jammed as evident here. Barney was just a little more skilled but Herb always was a respected in the pocket rhythm player who could make singers shine. God Bless them both. And thanks for posting this. :)
