IMHO this is by far the best version of the song. It's amazing when you listen to the two versions. Hudson's version was more mature more seductive. Beyonce's version was bubblegum pop and contrived. Maybe that's what they were going for.

I can't believe some people think this isn't the best version of this song. the first time I heard it it made me cry! Her voice is so pure and full of emotion, you could hear the pain in her voice and every note is perfect! I have listened to Jennifer Holliday's version and she just shouts it out, I am very impressed with this version, Jennifer Hudson has a spectacular voice
