well, I would say as they progress their music becomes worse. Their debut is just incredible, same as the second record. Then the third was alright, still a good album. But, when I received my copy of All Hope Is Gone, I was very disappointed. Well, we all look for different things in music. I for one look for artists who have their own unique sound that cannot be compared to other artists (Radiohead, Nirvana, Nine Inch Nails, Rage Against The Machine, etc.) Others just look for beats (pop)

Yeah i agree, Placebo have got more room for creativity, problem with metal is if you stray too much from the genre you start losing quite a few of the more hardcore fans. However Slipknot do have some variation at least, like comparing Snuff and All Hope is gone. Glad to see that was sorted peacefully :D

I'm sorry I said Nadar. I mean, Nacidos. Nancy Boy is a great song, but I'd say Pure Morning is my favorite. I only have 2 Placbo cds and 3 Slipknot cds. I plan on downloading 2 more this week. No, lets stop arguing and have a friendly talk instead. And your right. I'd rather go to a Slipknot concert because of the amount of moshing and wild experience. Your looking at it wrong... The reason some clothing is transparent in shortwave IR is because the fibers are transparent at those wave lengths. This exact effect is the reason laser safety glasses and sun screen work. Thermal radiation emission from the clothing itself when worn will nullify nearly all transparency from fabric based clothing. As for RF, that isn't even remotely the same.

0.1 Kelvin is right above absolute zero, and that CAMERA WILL NOT see it, unless it's a cooled array and cooled sensor camera... for uncolled ones dont see things that cold, it has to be sensitive enough and not get flooded by it's own heat, or emitted energy nontheless, oyu're right though, i think he was a bit mixed up im curious though, that cam can see visible and midORfar IR, , so u should TRY pointing a remote at it and see if that's really a blind spot between it's 2 seeing regions

If I'm remembering right (the camera used to produce this video was retired shortly after I started working here), it was sensitive from 8-12 microns. Infrared films and infrared filters for conventional cameras only cover the very near infrared (under 1 micron, usually), because for longer wavelengths you need specialized lenses and specialized detectors. [1 micron = 1000nm]

I use a FLIR SC 640 for industrial inspections. It is 7.5 to 13 micron camera as well. It seems you know your stuff about infrared. What is your field of study? I also agree with what you say about manufactures misrepresentation of cameras. I am one of a few Infrared Thermographers who take the time to be certified to a high level. It bothers me to see the scince of infrared misinterpreted so often on the web by people with cheap cameras and no proper training or understanding of how it works.

All that said, you are correct that the low light settings on most consumer cameras are actually just the red sensors and a near-infrared headlight... But there I blame the manufacturers for calling it night vision when it really isn't. :)

The camera was bought before I joined the project (and has since been discontinued) but my understanding is that it had some of the nearer infrared included to allow it to be able to analyze much hotter items (it was designed primarily for building inspections, with emphasis on finding electrical and heating system faults). The one we're currently using is a 7.5-13 micron camera, which gives us access to cooler temperatures.

You are correct....I am now the one who does not know what he is talking about. 5 to 12 that is an interesting range. 5 to 7 has very low transmission, and 12 to 14 still provide good transmision. I wonder what made them use that span as opposed to the now standard 8 to 14 microns. Thanks for setting me straight!

night vision and the camera she has are two different things. The camera she holds at one point is an Agema brand and is probably somewhere in the 8 to 14 micron range and a night vision cameras work in the near infrared spectrum less than 3 microns. Night vision still uses some light. An infrared camera works solely off the Infrared radiation emitted by a dimensional point of an object. The intensity of the radiation is a function of temperature.

I'd guess that a cheap red laser would be completely invisible on a FLIR, unless it's pointed at a dark object and kept on it. For red lasers, atmospheric absorption is very negligible. Even for Green or Blue, only an enormously tiny amount of energy would be lost to the air, so I'd think it'd take a very powerful laser (Maybe in the Watts range even) for a beam to heat air, and even then it'd probably be too feeble for FLIR to see.

Well, the cellphone camera sensor DOES see infrared light. It has an infrared filter on it. If you take that off, and put a NORMAL-LIGHT filter (like tinted glass or similar) on it instead, then it will only show you infrared light, hence: infrared camera. But i doubt it will see the temperature differences

Glass doesn't block thermal energy. What does happen is that if the camera is angled incorrectly, then you get a reading of the space above or below the glass -- i.e., if you were aiming at upper story windows, the IR beam would bounce off the glass and read the temperature of the sky. A properly-aimed IR camera will read thermal images through glass. Radiant barriers are another matter.

Those glasses block out so much natural light, that your retinas open up like crazy to see in the darkness, and allows you to see some IR light that you normally wouldn't. While it may seem cool at the time, there aren't really any topics on the effects IR light on the retinas after prolonged exposure. To each his own of course, but at least this way, your eyes are certainly safe, and you can show everyone that cool thing you saw in IR.

I think you're basing your response on limited knowledge of only black and white Infra Red. There is also Color Infra Red. Look up facts about Kodak Ektachrome Professional EIR film and broaden your scope. Color Infra Red and Black and White Infra Red are nothing alike.

Just a heads up... I'ts just easier and quicker to make just one invert adjustment layer and then set its blending mode to "color". It's the very same thing you are doing there with both adjustment layers.

UK, Russia France and some other countries have already OFFICIALY RELEASED UFO files to the public this summer. I have seen flyby myself once but up to this day I am not sure that was 100% UFO because it was night object (ball of light at clear sky) flew fast and low without any sound. It flew straight line tho thats the only doubt I have. Way to go sceptics!(or poor ppl)

its a visual effect, the only thing thts needed to create this effect is an airplane flying, the clouds and the ground are steady of course. this vid was used by mexican government to encover political affairs with cuba by that time. its real but the airforce realized it was a mistake just in the next flight over thet area, then the government find a good use for it, they make pepole stop paying attention in real problems
