To me there is a HUGE difference between the phrases "my favorite movie" and "the best film ever made. I know, as pretty much every intelligent being knows, that Citizen Kane is the greatest film ever made, but my favorite film is Schindler's List. For many reasons that are a mystery even to me, that film touches me on a very personal level, whereas I absolutely adore this film, but in a typical way, as simply the greatest film.
