So since it would seem fairly logical that the republican party as a whole would have no purpose directing hateful energy towards the best it has produced in the last 100 years, that really only leaves one person in the room holding the smoking gun.

Phoenix, I think it's all about good intentions. If you search throughout history and look at socilism, I don't think we can find a single example of it working. We find the transfer of power to the few and you create a dependent class that always looks for help.Our pseudo capitalist system now won't succeed when restrained and interfered by gov't because incentive is removed.I don't see how anyone can deny this. I love Gillian Welch and David Rawlings!!!! I saw them in Charlottesville, VA in 1996 I think. At a coffee house. I sat at David's feet because there were only about 30 of us there to listen. They were awsome!! I loved to watch David's facial expressions. They were priceless. He completely gets into his music. This has to be the best rendition of this song since the original! Good on ya!
