I'm not going to say "they are gothic" or "they're not gothic. Just know that a lot of their songs are diverse in style/genre/theme. So it's hard to classify them to a specific genre. I, personally, think they are more symphonic metal/rock, at least currently. But, I honestly think WT SHOULD BE its OWN Genre because they're ORIGINAL and UNIQUE like no other band out there, but that's just me. I think, though, that other people would also agree with me with this, so yeah...

But yeah Jars of Clay is awesome and so are the metal bands like As I lay dying, The showdown and Becoming the archetype. As for demon hunter, the only album I liked by them was the triptych. It's all good, it's a topic we both have strong opinions on. It's just the the christian market place is crowded with generic sound alike pop rock bands. It's hard to find a good unique band in the "christian scence" but it can be worth it when you do find some of the gems that are there.

I was referring to Christian music. There are a lot of Christian musicians who do not do Christian music, and have a great message anyway. I think a lot of Christian music is pretty good, but that is in the eye of the beholder. But yes, Christian music should focus as much on talent as message, and I think some of them do that well. Sorry you talked about christians limitng themselves to christian music because of issues with content and I thought you did that as well. I just have an issue with artistry being sacraficed for ministry. Most bands care about having a good message but don't pay attention to the quality of music. What church are you referring to? In my experience, each church has a different position, although within the same denomination (Catholic, Orthodox, ect) they tend to be more uniform. No two people have exactly the same views in the church, either. Maybe some believe as you say they do. There are others that do not. Look up Plugged In Online, they have a lot of music reviews from a Christian perspective. As to the church in general, that is not true. Secular music is not explicit by nature.

Again, Christians like Christian music because of CONTENT. Not because we are an exclusive club, not because we wish to only give our money to Christians, not because we think secular music is not good enough. This is liberally salted with non-Christian bands. It is music that celebrates promuscuity, drugs, violence, ect, which we generally avoid. It would be very difficult for those musicians to sell CDs to people if they couldn't make any money. Its their job. Even pastors get a salary. And what's wrong with sharing your faith through music? You make a good point. So far Kobe and Lebron james teams have the best records. When the season started out i thought boston would repeat. The way they are struggling i am not quiet sure. Most team need 3 good playa to win it all. Had shaq not left the magic he would of won several or more championship with penny. Shaq left and it took him longer. Bulls were beatable in their last 2 championships. Utah just didn't have the mentallity to beat them. Lebron james said penny was one of his best!

What ever happened to Jonathan Mover? The first time I ever heard of Satriani he was on "Rock Line" for "Surfing With The Alien". Then the DJ said he was playing that night at "HammerJacks" in Baltimore that night. I jumped in my car and went over there. The place was practically empty but those guys blew the roof off the place anyway. Probably the best show I ever saw. I was standing 10 feet away. It was like I got my own private show. Awesome life experience.

I've been playing since i was 15 and am just now (at 18) wanting to learn theory, I've even thought of majoring in music.. but now that i've realized how hard that is i've been thinkin of minoring.. but i LOVE music!
