t was for the guy Paul Potts it wasn't the song they were crying about everyone was just so amazed at such a wonderful opera voice coming from a car phone salesman it was just amazing! I get goose bumps every time I see it. Its definitely one of the best moments in reality/contest TV history ever I feel.

Du bist wahrscheinlich genauso leicht beinflussbar, weil du anstatt dafür einfach 'dagegen' bist. Ich mag Paul Potts, weil er einem irgendwie Hoffnung schenkt. Man muss nicht immer in den Rahmen passen, um andere Menschen berühren zu können. Er sieht nicht aus wie ein Mädchenschwarm, hat mit diesem einen Auftritt jedoch mehr getan, als all diese Schönlinge je könnten.

Good to know that you are a Kuban who likes opera as well because Im a Kuban too and I have purchase his CD and became very disappointed because the lack of knowledge of Spanish and Italian of this tenor with all respect for others reviews. But he doesnt sing clear and his voice needs an opera training program as sun as possible.

I spent 5 years in an orchestra, and from my experience, the better the job the conductor does training the orchestra for the piece, the less he's needed for the actual performance. But...although things may go smoothly for practice, the live performance may require adjustments that he may make from the podium. But if you don't watch, know the gestures, or follow them, he wouldn't have you in the orchestra. Everyone is a team and he's the coach. He called people like you primadonnas.

Thanks for your opinion but I can't accept it. When getting ready for a concert you practice at home and at least twice a week with the band.Everyone knows how to read music and when to play their instruments I never once looked at the conductor.And I definatly was'nt any better than any other member of the band.

My opinion concerning your question is that a conductor is to keep the group in check. Basically, he is the equivalent of a checkpoint at various points during a musical piece. The pauses, crashendos or changes in key and tempo or whatever are all marked by the conductor. I hope this helps. -reet

I really like this piece but one thing I have never understood is the need for a Conductor ?. I used to play the Cello and even when I was young, and we did a concert, I always knew where to come in when to pause etc and never looked at the Condutor. Poor Puccini. "Nessun Dorma" has become the "And I'm Telling You I'm Not Going" of opera. Sad that it's apparently the only aria the booboise can be expected to recognize. Sadder still that Potts is forced to sing this bowdlerized, Cliff Notes version, the audience presumably being unable to sit still through the full three minutes of the song was it was written. Ah well, maybe it'll make some kid somewhere curious enough to actually go see "Turandot."
