having worked with touch screen technology for years, calibration is needed and required. POS registers are a different animal compared to a voting machine. I would also think that county clerks are more interested in doing a professional job, regardless of their party. why not get involved in your local poling precinct instead of this piling on mentality. Being a cash register operator hardly qualifies anyone as a voting machine expert. Does working at McD's make you nutrition expert? hardly.

Touch screens actually do require calibration between the touch sensors and the display (so people see buttons in the same place the machine does). Go into any Panera store and talk to a manager on how they calibrate the register screens. Working there for two years I had to calibrate a register maybe five times. In two years. This guy had to calibrate his machine twice inside a few minutes. THAT is what I take issue with, that a cash register has a better track record than a voting machine.

These were just "dumb terminals" tied to a mainframe. Early GUI's were available (both Mac and Windows), but they were not used here. the vfx for this aren't the greatest. one major fix would be to get the dust looking right. The smoke especially the black was a little too opaque looking and didn't match the black balance of the original footage. Try maybe a slight gray haze to the distant elements, possibly a fake dof and try to go for volumetrically light particles in a 3d package. Also debri would be good too.

Here's wat happened when he reached the bottom he was sinking out of control and trying to ascent. He doesn't die of the recordered tape the tape misteriously stops recording but if you watch it to the very end you can still here the sound of his breathing. Then the camera turns off completely. Thats great investigation and it helped fire people who dont do their job, but as a jiffy lube employee, i have to say that not all stores scam their customers. we actually do the work and dont sell shit to people that they don't need. yes, occasionally there are mistakes but we pay fully for our mistakes and take responsibility. so dont think all jiffy lubes are shit cuz they aren't.

I just got my oil changed at a Jiffy Lube in Minnesota. They charged me for 8 quarts of oil when my owner's manual clearly states that it takes 6. What is worse is that my car is now leaking oil. They stripped the threads on my oil pan, and instead of telling me or fixing it, they tried to stop the leak with a couple rubber stoppers, which did not work. I brought the car back and they claimed that they are not responsible. Jiffy Lube is a fucking scam!!!

A word of warning, while I do think Jiffy Lube is the worst offender of fraud and crappy service they are certainly not the only one. Many shops private or franchise can give lousy to no service for too much money. It's best to shop around and ask questions of managers and friends who have had service there. Know exactly what you are getting before you sign. Ask if you can watch the service being performed. If they seem hesitant or push for extras, find someone else.

The owners are cheap and both they and the corporation push for impossible service times. I wanted to manually torque the tires at the end of tire rotations but the district manager wouldn't allow it. It gets worse all the time as new cars are harder to work on. I sometimes wonder what those engineers are smoking. Also I don't think we know enough nor our equipment actually does the job in anything except gearbox service and oil changes. I became very efficient but not any more skilled.

Having previously I think the problem is in the training and pay. Jiffy Lube hires anyone and gives poor training that consists of staring at a computer for a couple of days. They want to work that place like Mcdonalds (I've worked there too) and it just doesn't work with peoples cars. When you get employees who are frustrated by problems they don't have the answer to at near minimum wage, they eventually stop caring. Even if the employees care it's not always the best service...
