I actually own two helicopters. One is a micro size and trust me, ounces matter. Heck, with the little one, GRAMS matter. Looking later in the video it's obvious it CAN free-fly, but it's just not as stable as the intro falsely leads you to believe. The AP just recently stopped accepting photos from the US military because they were caught doctoring pictures. You have to have zero tolerance with this sort of thing. Catch them at one thing, wonder what they got away with, eh?

Sadly no, that is not "the antenna", for several reasons. First, if you look at it closely there are several of them leading away at different angles ideal for overhead suspension. Second any real antenna would be much easier to spot and there would be no more than two and they would be very short. 3rd, the antennas would either be thick and stiff, or thin and wobbly. These were thin and stiff, indicating tension on them. The wires are probably due to underpower - at that size, grams count.

I wouldn't have minded so much it being covertly assisted except that they then have the guy trying to knock it off course and showing its recovery, as part of the demonstration. Without the puppet lines that thing'd do cartwheels when he hit it. Like the difference between a highwire circus act having a hidden safety line for the performers, vs having a hidden suspension line that helps him stay on the tightrope. This trickery requires some "full disclosure". Without that, it's fraud.

There's a long way to go before UAV being used commonly, they are not intelligent enough, operators need to monitor their flying status all the time for avoiding crash, some UAVs' endurance is up to 15 hrs, it is a tough work to monitor them manually. Thus, making UAV intelligent enough to stick on to sky independentlly without any monitor or remote controlling is the most important thing to do, I think

Nope Impossible. The systems on US carries and any thing battlegroup or not are sensitive to pick up very small rocket rounds . The plain was seen . was warned and they did fly away at risk of being taken down .

Video ended at 4:21 because at 4:22 the 'UAV' was abruptly shot down, recovered and footage posted to Youtube. ;D When was this footage taken and when was it released is the question here. I find it hard to believe a non-friendly aircraft was able to get this close to a US carrier, but then again if this was in international waters, technically anything goes, in which case the US carrier probably wouldn't fire upon the non-threatening aircraft to prevent worsening relations with Iran.

Ever since I found this video, I've been watching it at least once a day. Seeing this thing fly drives me insane with interest and curiosity. Are both sets of blades collective? Does it rotate by changing the collective in opposite directions on both rotors, or is there some gearing that changes the torque individually? Would it be able to fly inverted?
