Walmart is the REASON so much of our stuff is imported; they started the trend. They use slave labour as a means to save money, maximize profit, and undercut all the competition. GM is defined by its impressive pay to their employees, complete and total health coverage, severence package as well as personal and civil protection of rights. Meijers isn't an anecdote it is an example how functional unions are. Of any state that uses union force workers, Michigan is by far one of if not the very largest and it should seem at the very least a bit reasonable to assume that some of its shortfalls are because of this. You are right. marketplaces are not homogeneous, but that has little to do with this at all. There are plenty of other stores like Walmart and their simple lack of adaptation to current market conditions of their downfall. If you live in a state like Michigan it everyone would easily pick you as the short bus rider. Meijer is small chain store but its stock room has no organizational system, all of its UNION employees make minimum wage and the management are terrible to customers I.E. failure

I can't say I'm suprised. I've worked there for 4 years; not because I like Walmart, but because its Walmart or flipping burgers and bills need to be paid. Half a year ago, I was disciplined for taking my grandfather to the hospital and missing work myself. They just dont give a damn, because they know that you need your job more than they need you, and I was given the "fair for all associates" lecture as well. What can you do? Sue? I work at walmart and I think about 90% of the associates are retarded. They are all lazy as fuck. I have pretty good managers at my store though, all of them are very cool and follow the rules. Some of them buy us pizza every once in a while when we do a good job. We have cook outs in the summer, they unlock the soda machines sometimes for free soda. Some people really dont work though, its very hard to be nice, or want to keep an associate who doesnt do thier part.
