Ringo wasn't a magnificent drummer. However, he was incredibly good. One of the best, but far from being that. But he was what The Beatles needed, his style is completely unique.

im only 13 years old, and i have enough sense to realize that ringo was a great drummer, and that he really was underestimated, because he couldnt sing. skintonominted is a fucking retard. he sounds like a 4 year old. if he thinks ringo isnt a good drummer, he should go get a life, and stop taking crack/cocaine

I suppose they should just have left it unreleased, if also John Lennon had thought it wasn't worth releasing it. Or it could have been a part of some "Lost Lennon tapes collection". Why make it The Beatles?

How do you feel now? We all make mistakes. I think the surviving Beatles (and Yoko Ono)were rich enough without the anthology, and I like to think they did it to produce a lasting historical record of Beatledom. I like to think they had been apart from it for long enough to see it all through clear eyes to realise how great it all was.

I think its really awesome how Yoko gave the remaining Beatles the cassettes to do this. It has all the charisma, and the total beatles sound. More of the Abby Road mix.
